Ernest Fuhrmann

President + Co-Founder

An experienced oilfield veteran, Ernie started his career while in college, logging offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Upon graduation, he shifted into sales.

Known for telling it like it is, Ernie worked his way up to the role of vice president. In 2015, he joined forces with Jackie and co-founded GeoVision. A year later, he founded DataLog.

A graduate of Sam Houston State University in Business Administration, Ernest is a member of the West Texas and Houston Geological Societies. He resides in Houston with his wife, Nicole, and their two daughters.

Jackie Palmer

President + Co-Founder

Like many, Jackie began her oilfield career as a mud logger. As one of the first onsite steerers, she founded her first Geosteering Center in 2010.

Over the next few years, she opened two more on-site Centers in Houston and Pittsburgh. From there, she served as an Operations Geologist for Penn Virginia Oil’s Eagle Ford drilling program. In the ensuing years, she founded GeoVision and partnered with Ernie at DataLog.

Jackie holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Florida. When not spending time vacationing in Moab with her husband and two dogs, she is actively involved in AAPG and the Houston Geological Society.

Sales

Ryan started his oilfield career as an MWD in 2008. He transitioned into mud logging with roles in areas ranging from sales to operations management. All told, Ryan has over 20 years of experience in customer service and account management. A U.S. Army veteran, he co-chairs the Social Function Committee of the Oklahoma City Geological Society board of directors. A lover of the outdoors, he lives in the Oklahoma City area with his wife, Tabitha, and two sons.

COO

Brian began his mud logging career working the Eagleford play, which included experience in Haynesville and Cotton Valley. He joined our team as a Field Supervisor, observing projects in the Haynesville, Cotton Valley, and Eagleford trends. As COO, he oversees every region we’re active in. A U.S. Navy Gulf War veteran, Brian and his wife, Bunnie, have two daughters.

Sales

Devi Theriot Fuhrmann brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to her role on DataLog's sales team, having transitioned from a successful career in Louisiana real estate to the petroleum industry. With a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education, Devi is a skilled and knowledgeable sales professional. Devi continues her family's legacy in oil and gas with pride. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.

Sales

Kristen started her oilfield career here at DataLog. She has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from University of Texas – San Antonio where she was active in the UTSA Student Geological Society and Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority. Based in Houston, she is a member of the Houston Geological Society, AAPG, and STGS. Having visited five continents, she is extensively well-traveled.

Sales

Elliot began his career in the offshore deepwater Gulf of Mexico as a mud logging for GeoServices after receiving a double major in Geology and Chemistry from Stephen F. Austin State University. After three years of rig site work, he transitioned into a management role as a product line development manager while supporting their real-time data management product. Elliot then moved into sales and business development roles at Core Lab, spending fifteen years holding various positions across three different business units within the company, demonstrating his versatility and expertise in the industry. A sports enthusiast, he lives in Houston where he meet his wife, Danielle, and they have two children.

Mass Spectrometer & Geochemistry Manager

Cody Wendt began his career in petroleum in 2011 after graduating from Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota with a traditional Geology Degree focusing on economic geology / structure / optical mineralogy / petrology / petrography. Upon completion of a Bachelors of Science he spent the vast majority of his time in the field working working as an on-site well geologist predominantly in the Delaware Basin. Over the course of the years mud logging he has helped develop training programs for newly hired geologists and focused on mentorship as well as learning new regional areas of the greater Permian Basin working on an array of localities ranging from the Northwest Shelf / Central Platform / The Midland Basin and surrounding subsidiary basins such as the Tatum and Tularosa Basins working for a wide range of small regional family owned oil companies to multinational corporate oil operators on many oil / gas / disposal wells, as well as surface drilling campaigns for an international potash mine near Carlsbad, NM. Upon coming onboard with Datalog Geological Services as a field supervisor, Cody now serves as the Geochemistry Department Manager overseeing EDXRF / PXRD / and GC-MS operation and continuing the development of our Mass Spectrometry equipment as well as training others on sample preparation and and data analysis.

Permian Division Manager

Abe’s journey in oil and gas began in 2002 on the production side. His career kickstarted as a floor hand on a workover rig, where he gained hands on experience and a deep understanding of field operations. He steadily climbed the ranks and landed a role as lease operator on a water flood. Working closely with engineers and geologists he sparked an interest in furthering his education. He enrolled in the University of Kansas and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geology with a focus in engineering. Upon graduating he embarked on a new chapter, transitioning into mud logging in the dynamic Anadarko and Permian Basins. His strong operational background and keen insights led him to his advancements to the role of field supervisor. Today, Abe serves as DataLog's Division Manager for the Permian and Anadarko Basins.

Quality Control Manager

Scott has spent 23 years in the oilfield, 15 of them as a mud logger in the Delaware and Permian basins. As a Field Supervisor, he spent five of his eight years deep-water offshore mud logging. A resident of the New Mexico desert, his family includes finance, Julie, daughter, Melanie, and sons, Andrew and Wyatt.

Field Supervisor

Wesley Patterson started his mud logging journey in 2010 as a trainee and sample catcher in the Eagle Ford. He then began doing different projects as a mud logger in both the Haynesville/Bossier formations as well as the Eagle Ford before transitioning over to the Permian Basin in 2012. Upon his transition he began acquiring extensive knowledge in both the Delaware Basin and the Spraberry Trend areas. In his off time he enjoys playing pool with friends and participating in pool league in Odessa.
